Welcome to My Story
I was raised where the roads curve gently through farmland, where summer mornings smelled of fresh earth and the evenings echoed with the sounds of frogs by the creek. Our two-story farmhouse stood tall with its wide front porch, a garden to tend, and trees that knew all our secrets.
Childhood was a collection of long days, lakes to swim in, and adventures waiting just beyond the fence line. School was a small building with big dreams. Three grades shared one room, and learning felt personal- woven into daily life like the threads of a well-worn quilt. The yellow school bus came early and rumbled down winding roads for thirty minutes before it stopped to drop me off. I carried a book bag, notebooks, of course, but also scribbled stories on napkins, paper sacks, or whatever I could find. I was writing before I ever knew I was a writer.
I was blessed with three great children, and now eight grands and four great-grands. Working with young children for thirty-eight years allowed me to become a storyteller, and then writing children’s books became my passion. Today, I travel the country sharing stories, music, and excitement with hundreds of children and adults.
